Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adahnom met President of Jubbaland State Sheikh Ahmed Madobe in his office today (December 30, 2015). During the discussion the two sides discussed about the peace and stability of the region, the upcoming Somalia election and implementation Addis Ababa Agreement.

Dr. Tedros praised that there is meaningful progress in Somalia and lauded the role of Jubbaland towards the overall peace and stability of Somalia is demanding.

Sheikh Ahmed Madobe mentioned that Ethiopia’s role for regional peace and stability is crucial and he further noted “We appreciate the participation of Ethiopian troops in Jubbaland corridor that are playing crucial role in the fight against Al-Shabab.” The Jubbaland president noted further cooperation is needed to bring about peace, stability and progresses in Somalia.
