CAPE TOWN – A Somali shop owner has been shot and killed during a robbery in a Khayelitsha.
The man was attacked by a group of men who posed as customers at his store early Monday morning.

The police’s Frederick Van Wyk said, “A Somali shopkeeper was fatally wounded in Endlovini informal settlement in Khayelitsha. It’s alleged that three suspects entered the business and demanded cash. The victim was shot once in the stomach and died on the scene.”
The gunmen fled with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and airtime.
The killing come in the wake of crime stats, released by the police minister last week, which revealed that Khayelitsha is among the worst areas when comes to violent crimes.
Police urged the communities and CPFs to help them root out rampant crime in the area.
